Looking for a Web Designer?
By now most businesses have their own website. If you don't have a website already I'm sure you are aware of the benefits of having one. However simply having a website is not enough anymore.
A website is like having a shop. Some shops are on the high street, with impressive lit up signage, great window displays and fantastic products. Some shops are down side streets and alleyways making them harder to find. Some shops are neglected and have fallen into disrepair (bear with me, I am going somewhere with this...). No two shops are equal, just like no two websites are equal. If you do not continually update and maintain your website it will quickly become out of date, and like a dilapidated shop building no one will visit it. Your competition will quickly overtake you.
As more and more businesses turn to the Internet to promote themselves, it becomes harder for your website to get to the top of the pile and get noticed, and it's just as difficult to stay there.
Your website is in many cases the first point of contact between you and your potential customers, and is what gives people their first impression of your company. It’s important to get that right.
Your website needs to look good to impress visitors, but it’s also just as important that it works well and is easy to use. I’m sure you have come across websites that are difficult to navigate, or take too long to load, or in some cases simply do not work. Did you buy anything from them? Probably not…
Another thing to consider when creating a website is how it gets updated in the future. It’s all well and good getting a new website built that looks nice, but you need to be able to add new content regularly. If you are trying to make a good first impression the last thing you want is the latest news story to be from 3 years ago. I build every website on a Content Management System (CMS) that allows you to log in and easily make changes to the text, add images, create news stories and whatever else you need to be able to do regularly.
I’m always on the lookout for new projects to get involved in. If you have a website in need of some TLC, or you are looking to create a new website get in touch to discuss your ideas.
